Most therapeutic proteins — and plenty of small molecules — never make it to a patient not because the molecule fails, but because nothing can carry it there intact. NanoPawTh was built to close that gap: a nanoparticle platform purpose-built for cargo that's difficult to stabilise, protect, or target.

• A Novel Material at the Core

At the heart of NanoPawTh is a proprietary mini-spidroin: an engineered, truncated spider-silk-inspired protein sequence developed in-house. Because it's a genuinely new composition rather than an adaptation of an existing biomaterial, we've filed a provisional patent covering it. This is the material we license — partners bring a molecule, and we build a mini-spidroin nanoparticle or gel system around it.

• A Second Material System

Alongside spidroin, NanoPawTh also includes a Plant-seed-derived nanoparticle and gel system, built on the seed's two major storage proteins. Where spidroin is engineered for performance, the Plant-based system is engineered for scale: it's inexpensive, drawn from a well-characterised, food-grade material class, and suited to applications where cost and regulatory speed matter as much as cargo protection. Together, the two systems let us match the carrier to the molecule — and to the partner's timeline and budget — instead of forcing every project through one formulation.

• To be Proven Internally First

Before NanoPawTh goes to a partner, we are working to prove it ourselves. Our flagship application is a protein therapeutic for osteoarthritis, where both material systems carry our own recombinant proteins toward a sustained-release joint therapy. Every gain we make there in loading, stability, or release control feeds straight back into the platform.
